Each city has its own characteristic sound. Much can be told about a city, but not its sound – it has to be heard.
Stuttgart in Ton is an audiovisual portrait of Stuttgart’s acoustics. Following the course of a day, the documentary shows the four themes traffic, work, recreation and night. Visual and auditive impressions get interwoven to become the rhythm of the city.
This experimental documentary was created in 2006 by me and Erik at the HdM.
We used two different cameras (though not simultaneously), a Sony PD170 and a Canon XM2. Everything was filmed in natural light.
