At Maps of War there is an animated card which shows the spread of the most known religions over the last 5000 years.
How has the geography of religion evolved over the centuries, and where has it sparked wars? Our map gives us a brief history of the world’s most well-known religions: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, and Judaism. Selected periods of inter-religious bloodshed are also highlighted.

My knowledge of history is not detailed enough to judge how correct this map is. This topic being kinda… heated… I wouldn’t be surprised if there was some kind of spin in it. Please leave a comment if anything seems suspicious. 🙂
