Users of digital TV watch less TV

A new study claims that users who utilize digital technology for watching TV actually end up watching less.

According to the study, users who have a hard disk recorder, dvd player or digital receiver at home watch for 130 minutes per day. Non-digitally equipped consumers watch 230 minutes on an average day.

“TV2010 - Mission Complete?“ was conducted by TV2010, a project financed by Buhl Data Service GmbH and “Fortbildungsakademie Medien”. 3000 users of digital media in Germany took part in the online survey.

Note that Buhl is selling video recorder software itself. They claim that the survey is representative anyway.
